MELODY WAVES

Meet The Melody Waves Team

Ronnie Rafferty

Hi I’m Ronnie, One of the founders of 'Melody Waves Radio'. I'm also the host of Ronnie's 'Journey Into Sound' Radio show which takes many forms of shows depending on my mood. Every Monday 7pm until 10pm the show is mostly known for the catchphrase '3 different decades', '3 different charts'. I only got into radio 3 years ago although radio has always been my passion from listening to the local pirate stations of the 80’s.   My musical taste is varied from just about anything. I've been a DJ since the age of 11. I've seen it all when it comes to family parties, weddings, clubs etc. I stopped doing all that around 9 years ago as there's only so many times you can listen to 'Dancing Queen' or get the 'this one will get the dance floor packed' when it's already packed to the rafters. Then I needed an itch to 'scratch', and along came the opportunity to join a station where I spent nearly 3 years at, and I met these other two rebels Jan & Dave. When I was asked if I would like to be part of this team I jumped at the chance. I would say between the 3 of us, we have every musical taste covered, and hope to have a team of other great 'Disc Jockeys' join us at our brand new online radio station 'Melody Waves Radio'.

Jan Kupeczek

In memory of Jan - this was Jan's last profile here: "I've lived a life and a half. In the 60s I played in various bands around merseyside and began writing songs. I had my own publishing co. 'Smallsteps', and we recorded some very good musicians and singers. Sadly, we all drifted apart and I was looking for another outlet. I saw an article in a local paper asking for people to start up a radio station. I thought maybe I could get my songs played so I joined up. That was about 15 years ago and I never looked back. I have been with a few stations but now I am proud to be a founder of Melody Waves Radio. A new station with a bright future. My favourite program is 'remembering the 60s' every Sunday morning."

Dave Farr

I'm Dave Farr.   I've been massively into music since I was a nipper. I Had over 2500 7 inch singles, stored in alphabetical order, in pure white cardboard covers, by the age of 30, proudly stored in bookcases in my living room.
Stumbled upon a local community radio station, and listened to some great 'Jocks' religiously for at least 5 years, until I decided, 'I can do this'.   Joined them, and haven't looked back!
Sadly that station is gone now, but I've been lucky, and joined another station, almost straight away.   Then when two good friends asked me to join a new venture, Melody Waves, as co admin, I jumped at the chance!   So here we are. Let the fun begin.
The Dave Farr All Request Show is Sponsored by www.peteworrall.com, and do not forget:

Amy

Hi, I’m Amy, I’ve been into my music as long as I can remember.
I saw Blue in concert in 2004, when I was totally in love with Lee Ryan!
Nowadays my 'niche' is K-Pop, it's new, it's fresh, it's now!
This obsession is helped by the fact that my 6 year old daughter is thoroughly obsessed by it too, and is often found selecting her own favourites on our smart speaker.
So I thought it's about time I shared some of my favourites with you all. I have recently added NEW music to my show too. Join me at 10am on a Wednesday morning, for 2 hours of the freshest tunes on the radio!

Ronnie & Dave

A radio special 'now and then' on Melody Waves Radio, Sundays 5pm to 9pm, where both Ronnie Rafferty and Dave Farr, lock up their turntables and vinyl, and instead, they put the world to rights for 4 hours, with an occasional classic track to soothe their throats after all that speech and laughter, yes 'from the stylus to the wireless', only at Melody Waves Radio.
Parental guidance is certainly not needed, on a Sunday late afternoon, thankfully, just be there with those two (Lovable - not!) Rogues, and Share the Rogues Spirit, (as in laughter and mischief). In 3 Words Unmissable and Daring.

AI Overview A "lovable rogue" is a character archetype, often a male character, who defies social norms and conventions but is still seen as charming and endearing by the audience or other characters. They are often portrayed as being clever, witty, and with a rebellious streak, but also possess a hidden good nature or moral code that earns them the audience's sympathy.

Andy Wrob (Wobbly)

Great to be part of a Radio Station with GENUINE people, who play just about everything, and I mean everything 24 hours a day, instead of being fixated on one era such as the 70s. I have known Ronnie, Dave & Jan for a while now, Jan I met on another radio station back in (I think) 2022, love his 60's music, well before I was even invented!, but what a great era that must have been.
Ronnie I have known for ages and we both love all that tech stuff! & Ronnie always has surprises up his sleeve with his choice of music, he is very versatile with music, 'Love Songs', 'Motown', 'Decades', 'Rock', 'Alternative', and he so loves using Vinyl*,
Dave I met even more way back in 2016 on an FM radio station in Halton, he used to email me every morning 7am on the brekky show, and he was hooked with radio, I even have his first ever show on that radio station, (no you can't ask for it), it must have been a magical time for him.
I, myself am able to create a show Sundays 2pm to 5pm, which is generally either 'Mixed', 'Rock', 'All 90s', 'All 80s', 'Perhaps even all 60s', and I am not obsessed with the '70s' like other radio stations!

*Vinyl (a record player deck with a stylus which sounds awesome).
